Radeon 6990 in CrossfireX Review

Today on Guru 3D we can read a review of Radeon 6990 in CrossfireX. As I Expected the scaling is good in newer games like Battlefield Bad Company 2, Metro 2033, Dirt 2 and also in benchmarks like 3DMark Vantage or 11. The games like COD MW2 witch do not have very gpu demanding graphic engine are scaling even downwards (: (but I think the problem is in CPU bottleneck)One thing worth to notice is that kind of setup is not made for low resolutions, it has the power to handle 3 or more monitors in a game with hi details or to run extremely gpu demanding games on hi details easily! Especially in games like a Metro 2033 that have very advanced graphic engine and amazing graphic in game we can see a huge gap between single 6990 and 6990 Crossfire.

P.S About scaling note that not all games are using the full potential of 4/6(Remember if you want to use Hyper threating o Intel cpu's the game must be written as for a 8 core cpu for example) cores of the cpu.
Some of the games are still using 2 cores so in this games scaling can be terrible. As not always it is the hardware problem but it can be software problem. Also some games like STALKER Clear sky or Call of Prypiat they are mostly written on GPU so the CPU is not used so much so there scaling can be great

I think that the 3/4 way SLI/crossfire still needs to be optimized. Yes they have a lot of power but and it works but i think that it can work better (Also the CPU bottleneck can be a big problem even if you have hi end CPU)

Ok enough of my EDU (: My feelings about this setup are that the power is amazing and it looks nice in case (: But if you want to run it you have to have extremely good airflow. The temperatures were about 90 C so that is very hot. Also it was a bit loud but that's to be expected by a quad gpu config like this. If you have money sure buy it because it can deliver amazing performance but bank for the buck and including performance increase it is not worth the money.

P.S: And the power consumption is ridiculous (:
