nVidia will produce the chipsets for Intel CPU'S again?

nVidia had an law dispute with Intel about the chipsets because nvidia thought that the agreement with intel allows them to produce chipsets 4 the nehalem series cpu's. Intel disagreed that nV can procude chipsets for the i7. nVidia was in trouble and both of the companies were angry on each other. But now Jen-Hsun Huang says that they are now talking about new chipsets 4 the SandyBridge.
So maybe in the future we will see new motherboards with nv chipsets?

Yeah right a tablet from creative. And i have to say it looks impressive.
ZiiO is a line of tablets and at the start there will be two models:

Zotac GTX 460 x2??

Zotac is creating an GTX 460 x2.
To our disposition will be 2GB GDDR5 (1 gb per gpu) also we have two separate 3 phase power sections.
Another 2 phase power section is dedicated to RAM memory. To connect the gpu together zotac is using NV NF 200 chip and to power this card we need 2x 8 pin connections.

So two GTX 460 have combined number od CUDA cores of 672, 2x 256 bit memory interface and 4x DVI video output. Unfortunately GPU frequency and RAM frequency isn't available for now. Also we don't know what cooler will be placed on there (but sure is that it will be dual slot cooler)

So yea new AMD (not ATi anymore!) 6870 and 6850 is out! AMD changed the names so this is now mid-range card and this is a competitor to GTX 460. I have to say the benchmarks are impressive it is just smashing the GTX 460. The replacement card for the 5870 will be the Radeon 69xx (i don't know yet) of course we will have something like a dual gpu radeon but we have to w8 a little bit more. I have read a review of the Windows 7 Mobile and i have to say i like it a lot. I had an windows mobile 6.1 device (Samsung Omnia I-900) then i was playing for a while with 6.5 version and both of these systems are terrible. The windows 7 mobile although is looking very nice. (unofficial) First tests of Radeon 6870

The title says it all. First unofficial tests of Radeon 6870. I have to say that the 3DMark Vantage score is impressive. 6870 beats the GTX 480 (or other name very loud radiator :D)
We have also some specifications of the card so
Clock: 850 mhz
Memory: 256 bit of 6400 mhz GDDR5 memory 204,8 GB/s data rate transfer.
Rest of the specifications are mystery :) for now of course.
I am very interested how powerful will the 6870 be.
For now we have to w8 for the official results.

Intel "codename" Knights Ferry

It is a parallel x86 processor. It is not a gpu but it might look like that.
So little explanation. To run a aplication with nVidia CUDA or ATI Stream you need to implement in the program very nonstandard application model of witch most of the programmers think that it is hart to do.
On the intel card we don't have any shader units or cuda cores or whatever, we have many of the x86 cpu so you can program in the normal way. So it is like having a graphic card only capable to do CUDA or Stream so it will accelerate some programs but if you want to play a game, heh sorry we can't do that. It is a Parallel processo as i said.

Well jump to the specs|
We have 32 x86 cores clocked at 1,2 ghz (in fermi 1,4 ghz for 480 cuda cores in GTX 480 or in ATI 850 mhz for 1600 stream processors)
also the processor is equipped with 64 L1 cache for each core and 8 mb L2 cache shared to all cores.

It has also a special 512 bit vector unit on each core witch enables 4x times more calculations than today's x86 cpu's
also something like more advanced hyper threating (it is called 4-way Hyper-Threating) so the card can do 128 threads simultaneously.
All of this is supported by 2 GB of GDDR5

It is a part of a bigger project called MIC (Many integrated core)
In plan is a unit with 50 x86 cores in 22 nm process.

One think i don't know when it will be relieved :D

As you can see it is able to deliver 1200W continous power
Also it has modular design but not fully witch means some cables are hardwired.
On the end of the some cables are special capacitors witch are delivering more stable power to components.
Also at the back we have two knobs to control the 80 mm fan and voltage of the +12V RAIL so when we need a little boost in voltage when we are overclocking we can increase it. I wonder if is is only re branded antec OC edition Quatro psu but i hope not (you know it is bullshit video of what i mean bellow)

GTX 460 From Galaxy

Galaxy will release a very interesting product. The GTX 460 is so good mid-range GPU that a lot of companies are making their variations.

So galaxy has a GTX 460 with 786 and 1024 MB memory
Ok but what is so special?

Ok lets start from the reference clocks:

It's been a while since i posted on a blog but i didn't heaved time to do this.
So now the news

GTX 460 so the lowest end GTX series card from Nv will be available in two versions

First will be with 1 GB of ram with 256 bus

Second with 786 mb of ram and 192 bot bus

Rest of the wpecs will be as follows:

336 CUDA cores
GPU: 675 MHz
RAM: 3,6 GHz
TDP version 768 MB: 150 W
TDP version 1 GB: 160 W

Definitely not a monster but till now the War betwen ATi and NV is on ATi's site

Why ATi wins?
Well:
Better TDP and Power consumption to performance
Lower temps
Lower prices
Bigger choise

But remember Nv has great 3D technology now on 3 diplays and PhysX and CUDA but the prices are bit to hi.

But well i think GTX 460 can be a good card. But i will w8 for the tests

Radeon 5770 with Network procesing unit.

Power Color will show on Computex 2010 a GPU with a Bigfoot Killer Xeno pro NPU (network processing unit) The gpu is based on a 5770 so performance should be pretty good. As they say the integrated NPU in the graphic card should decrease pings, increase frame rates since the NPU takes the stress from the CPU. Full specification, price ect is not known yet.

Asus ROG Xpander = nVidia FAILL

I am not an nV or ATi fanboy but nvidia now keeps failing.
Why? For example to run SLi technology on a motherboard companies needs to buy a special nf200 bridge witch enables SLi and expands pci express lines and to run 4x GPUs from nvidia
(4-way SLi) nvidia wants to put on a motherboard two nf200 chips.
NF200 chip makes the whole motherboard more complicated also nv wants from companies to pay money for the nf200 chip and for the SLi official licence(about 100$ for 2x nf200 easy to calculate 50$ for one chip). 
With crossfire there aren't such problems so you can have cheap motheboard with crossfire support.
ASUS on Rampage III Extreme wanted to keep reasonable price for the technology thats why the mobo supports only crossfire. But the true is that the nv is now breaking records with 4-way sli thats why asus wanted to have a 4-way sli support on Rampage III Extreme.

They created a special board with 2x nf 200 chips and 4x pci express called
ASUS ROG Xpander.
It allows to run 4x PCI express at full x16 speed 
Lonley 2x nf 200 chips can't provide in SLi full x16 speed but combined with x58 chipset it is possible.
Now to to be completley clear. The x58 provides it's pci express lines and 2x nf200 provides it's pci express lines. Chips combined together gives us 4x PCI express slots with x16 speed on all slots. Cool? not realy. The nf 200 chips are on the stand alone pcb and the price will be too big as for a board witch only enables SLi technology.
Also i think we would need a special case to fit this. And as for me it is just looking ugly. So the pictures as always below

So here is the monster. The clocks are stock but card has 4 gb of memory (2 gb for each core) and 12x mini display ports so you can hook up up to twelve screens. Insane resolutions, insane desktop space, insane gaming experience but the price is unknown. The pictures below.

GTX 470 with unique heatsink from Galaxy

This GTX 470 is unique. It has changed cooling witch is looking very futuristic. But to help clean the gpu the fan swings up. VERY NICE GALAXY! Photos below. btw I am interested how good is this heatsink??
